Oh my….so much I can relate to in this conversation and so much I really loved. Alex you are definitely allowed to call yourself a writer!! Stunning xx
Oh l love that Emily. I need more ritual in my life. I loved Alex’s suggestion of simply lighting a candle in gratitude for your evening meal. What are some of your favourite daily rituals?
I start each day by lighting a candle and standing with it in front of a mirror telling myself lovely things about myself! 💕
After my morning yoga I take a cup of tea into the garden and stand with my bare feet on the grass (in all weather!) to ground myself into the Earth and into my day.
Before my children return home from school (or in the old days when I used to leave to pick them up!) I pause for a cup of tea and sit either in silence or with a calming song to signify the shift in my day and change of my roles.
And before bed I love to spray myself with a flower essence spray and give gratitude for the day and for sleep. Xx
Oh I love these Emily—no wonder you always seem so unflappable! ;) I've been reading about grounding practices and have been trying to take my lunch outside in this lovely weather and spend a few minutes doing the same. And I also love the idea of marking transitions in your day. Lots to think about—thank you xx
I love that I set up my nervous system practices before actually facing my neurodivergence!! I cannot explain how much these daily practices have supported me and my children…they don’t do them but they are aware of a lot of them and benefit from a calm mother! x

Right?! You can just imagine the pin drop / mic drop moment after she shared that piece at an open mic night!
What resonated the most in our conversation, Emily?
Yes!!
For me it was the daily rituals. When I hear someone else live like I do, I feel so seen and grounded. And connected xx
