I’m not sure how I feel about this card yet, I’m curious that it seems to contain all four suits, and I love the imagery of the sky, but I’m cautious for some reason. So, before I share my reflections or the Spacious Tarot guidebook’s interpretation, what does it mean to you?
Before you start reflecting on the card, can you get outside and look at the sky?
Bonus points if you can do so when it’s filled with yellows, pinks, purples and maybe even some early stars like the one in the picture but, honestly, any sky will do.
Look up. How does it make you feel? What wisdom might it have to share with you?
Okay, now come back inside – it’s cold out there!
What is this image saying to you? How does it make you feel?
What is the significance of the pentacle, wand, sword and cup all being pictured together?
What does ‘magic’ or the idea of a Magician’ bring up for you?
In Tarot, The Magician is the first or second card of the Major Arcana (The Fool either has no number or is numbered ‘0’ and can be placed at the beginning or the end) – what might the number 1 signify in this context?
If nothing is resonating so far, take a few deep breaths and take your time.
Maybe close your eyes and ask the sky or the card a question and then wait see if they might offer an answer.
Sometimes moving out of thinking and into writing or speaking can open up new ideas, so try journalling – either in a notebook or into your phone’s dictaphone app.
Don’t be tempted to scroll down until you have captured at least some of your own thoughts…. The intention here is to connect with your own inner nature, not mine!
All done…?
Really…?!
Okay.
What comes up for me
As I said, I think this card is really pretty, but I didn’t immediately connect to it when I drew it. Sometimes, there is an immediate ‘yassss’ when I pull a card, sometimes I have to get to know it a little before I can hear what it has to say.
I love the colours in the sky – it seems safe and exciting at the same time. Tuesday’s post was a poem all about the power of sunrises in winter – little beginnings in an ending season and the idea of cycles within cycles – so it’s giving me some hope as we move into winter and it’s reminding me of Saturday’s winter solstice – the days will soon be getting longer again.
