Hey you. Just checking in. Your last poem ended with a line about feeling broken, and I just wanted to make sure that you at least have all the pieces in a bag.
The tideline
This poem is, almost word for word, a text message my dear friend Simon sent me after I published The Advocate a few months back. I love it for his care and also for his realism – sometimes, having all the pieces in a bag is as much as you can hope for. I am feeling its warmth again today after a frustrating week. I hope yours was better.

This notification came through as I sent you my Carbon Literacy form. I just wanted to say your impact on my week and last has been greatly appreciated and wonderfully enriching. So thank you. X
