I am a helium-filled balloon; high and flighty, joy-filled, but easily knocked. You are the sand-filled weight – not tying me down, but grounding me guiding me home.
The Tideline
Could you explain your primary relationship in just 30 words? I didn’t think I could until I was challenged to do just that in a poetry workshop. When I was involved with the Friends of Putney Art School many years ago, I met a wonderful older lady who became a dear friend. This metaphor is how she described her relationship with her late husband, and that simultaneously broke my heart and resonated so much with my own marriage that I never forgot it.
I have launched a second Substack where I am serialising my two most recent books and crowd-funding the advance for my third, which will be available exclusively on Substack. It’s called Wasted//Broken//Grown after the titles of the three books and promises ‘tales of hope from the front line of circular craft and design’. I would love to see you there – you can sign up here…
I am a spoken word poet, a craft, design and sustainability writer, and a nature-informed coach and facilitator – and you can find my books here and follow me on Instagram here.
